Class #9k Wireless Keyboard and Mouse |
Give
your hands and eyes a break!

I decided that since I spend most of my life typing and using a mouse that I deserved something newer and better. I recently purchased the Microsoft Wireless Desktop Keyboard Elite Model 1011 with built in wrist rest. I found the best deal at Staples.com for $99 and free shipping to my front door!.
The mouse has something really special - a magnifier. Just click the little button and the mouse cursor creates a magnified view that you can move around on your monitor. This is WONDERFUL since you can see enlarged portions of a photo, letter or map. You can move the enlarged area around with the mouse and also scroll things through the window. For the visually impaired, this could be a real sight saver.
With monitor resolutions going up and up, this makes it possible to zoom in on something without going into your display settings to change monitor resolution. You also do not have to mess around with setting larger font sizes used on the desktop.
One last comment about the wireless mouse. You need to free yourself from the bondage of that mouse tail (cord). I'd never go back to a corded mouse ever again! Another bonus is that there is no mouse ball to lint up and clean with a wireless optical mouse. |
It gets better. I like to listen to music generated by my computer as I work and sometimes it gets kind of loud if I'm really on a roll solving some hard problem or blazing through a new mine field. The phone rings and of course it would not be professional for a dignified guy like me to be heard rockin' out with 60's and 70's music in the background. This keyboard has a MUTE button. Just one button click and it gets really quiet and professional just 1 second before I answer the phone. No one knows! The call ends, so I punch the mute button again and the tunes are playing just as before. The + and - minus keys right next to the mute button also make it really easy to control the volume. There's more! The keyboard has a built in mouse so I can use both hands to navigate the internet or move the mouse with one hand and click the buttons with the other hand. About the only negative is that mouse needs to be close to the receiver and of course the mouse and keyboard use AA batteries. However, my camera and GPS also use AA batteries so I use rechargeable batteries for many things in my home including the 100 remotes for the entertainment system, DVD player, big screen, sound system and more!. It sure is nice to get something that works and helps make the work and play easier! |
